Dr. Sarah Hebl

Dr. Hebl is from a large, Midwestern family – she is the oldest of seven girls and one boy. Thus, she has been taking care of women her entire life and could not be happier with the opportunity to continue this calling in her career. Dr. Hebl left her home in Wisconsin at an early age to attend high school at Phillips Exeter Academy. She then attended Boston College where she earned a Bachelors degree in Hispanic studies. Dr. Hebl completed her east coast training at Tufts University School of Medicine where she received her medical degree as well as a Masters in Public Health. She then ventured to the West Coast where she completed residency at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara and is thrilled to have the opportunity to start her career in San Francisco – truly a dream come true.

Dr. Hebl was an exchange student in Mexico during high school and in Spain during college. During medical school, she spent a year conducting medical research in Puerto Rico examining factors associated with breast and cervical cancer screening among Puerto Rican women. Dr. Hebl additionally spent time providing medical care to a small community clinic in Nicaragua. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys every opportunity she gets to travel and explore the world. Other interests include singing, dancing, cycling, scuba diving and myriad outdoor sports.

During residency, Dr. Hebl conducted research on HPV self-collection and received Kaiser’s Resident Research Award for her work.

Dr. Hebl practices all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology with special interest in advanced family planning, high-risk prenatal care, adolescent gynecology, and both minimally invasive and vaginal surgery. Her research interests include breast and cervical cancer with special interest in HPV self-collection.
