Volunteer Spotlight

Secily Bason-Mitchell, MD, and Fung Yee Chan, MD, gynecologists from Pacific Women's OB/GYN Medical Group, have been volunteering since 2012. Through their work with OA and the partnerships with CPMC, they have treated women for conditions that have caused them pain and irregular bleeding for years. The surgeries have restored quality of life and helped these women better care for themselves and for their families. They were chosen to receive the Champion Award for the profound impact of their time and skills. "After 15 years of operating in gynecology, the sweetest days are my work with Operation Access. The patients are lovely, thankful, and truly in need of care. After all, caring for others is why we can to medicine in the first place," said Dr. Bason-Mitchell about her work with the OA.
